The North American Sports Almanac

I am a writer in need of a project. For me, the words flow freely … after the river has been cleared of its debris. Unfortunately, living at the confluence of the Mississippi and the Missouri, the driftwood gathers quickly around here. I need an excuse to keep the channel operable. For my day job, it’s not a problem. There’s only one way to post the articles, and that’s to write them. For everything else … again, I need a project. An organizing principle. 

I have settled on “The North American Sports Almanac.” It’s no secret I am a fan of lists and compendiums. Here, I will strive for at least one and maybe eventually the other. I am starting with the compendium principle. A short writeup on all 124 of the “major” North American pro sports franchises. Just my scattered thoughts from a lifetime of watching and scrolling. One day, I may even rank them. For now, I am going to publish at random. I just need to get started. To clear this logjam. Although the stakes are nonexistent, I hope you enjoy it. And maybe one day, this river will reach the ocean. - Patrick
